Suspension – 140mm travel with 140/150mm Fork Options. Modern trail bikes are used for an impressive variety of rides. Some riders use them to climb thousands of metres on huge rides, others weave in and out of bike parks and jumps during their daily adventures. Occam is available with either a 140mm Fox 34 or 150mm Fox 36 so you can ride the way you like.
Trail Geometry – Slacker head angle for great stability, Lower bottom bracket for natural cornering, Longer cockpit gives room to move while maintaining balance, Longer wheelbase gives stability at high speeds, Steep seat angle for a proper pedalling position, Short seat tube for long dropper posts.
Carbon OMR – Orbea Monocoque Race (OMR) frames blend high modulus fibers and high strength fibers exclusively. Prepreg carbon sheets are laser cut to minimize excess materials and overlap, and hours of pre-moulding ensure optimal compaction with the smallest amount of carbon. A full EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) mold helps eliminate wrinkles and voids.
Asymmetry – Strength – The right side support strengthens and stiffens a high-stress area. Instead of using a less-efficient ‘shock tunnel’ the Occam design offsets the shock to the left side of the frame, allowing the asymmetrical support to follow a more direct path. This straight line that closely follows the shock mounting is the most efficient way to neutralize suspension forces on the front triangle.
Asymmetry – Ergonomics & Balance – The asymmetrical design offers unique advantages beyond stiffness and low weight. The shock is mounted in a position that offers incredibly easy access to damper controls and the tidy design leaves room for bottle with easy left-side access.
Linkage Update – Occam uses a new two-part linkage design. Fewer pieces mean fewer interfaces, greater rigidity and a lower chance of something working loose. Additionally we have created a space in the axel and filled it with a handy 4 key multi-tool which is held securely in place with magnets. Always have the most-used tools close at hand for quick tweaks.
